Michael D. Rose

Mike is Chairman of the Board of First Horizon National Corporation (NYSE: FHN) and is the retired Chairman of Gaylord Entertainment Company, a diversified hospitality and entertainment company. He served as Chairman of Gaylord Entertainment Company with businesses that include the Gaylord Hotels (formerly Opryland Hotels), the Grand Ole Opry and WSM and WTN-FM Radio stations from April 2001 to May 2005.

He is the retired Chairman of Promus Hotel Corporation, operator of the Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites and Embassy Vacation Resort hotel brands, as well as the DoubleTree Hotels, DoubleTree Guest Suites, DoubleTree Resorts and Club Hotels. Mike was Chairman and CEO of The Promus Companies, Inc. from 1990 until 1994. Prior to his role at Promus, he served as Chairman and CEO of the Holiday Corporation (formerly Holiday Inns, Inc.). He was the Chairman of Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. from 1995 until 1996.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Gaylord Entertainment Company, Darden Restaurants, Inc., General Mills, Inc. and Stein Mart, Inc. Mike previously served on the Board of Council Capital portfolio company Advanced Academics.
