Thomas E. Givens

As an innovator of healthcare technology, Tom co-founded Healthcare Management Systems, Inc. (“HMS”) in 1984. HMS is the leading community hospital information system vendor with over 600 hospital facilities in its customer base. He served as its Chairman and CEO from 1984 until October 2007. Prior to co-founding HMS, he served American Medical Centers (AMC) in Nashville as both VP of Finance for the Florida region and MIS director. At AMC, he was responsible for designing and installing data processing systems. Tom currently serves on the Board of Council Capital portfolio company Ingenious Med. Tom is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University.
